Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students throughout the school day
• Assist with academic and behavioral needs to help students reach IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Support daily activities including transitions, lunch, and recess while ensuring student safety
• Empower students with special needs to succeed in a structured, supportive setting

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years or older
• Physical ability to support students, including standing, walking, and light lifting
• Willingness to complete New York State clearances such as fingerprinting and background checks
• Reliable transportation to Elmira area schools

Preferred (not mandatory):

• Experience in childcare, coaching, or behavioral health
• College students pursuing education, psychology, or social work degrees
• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (support available to pursue)
