Per Diem Instructional Aide - Elgin, IL

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Able to pass a TB test in compliance with district standards
• Physically capable of standing, walking, and assisting with lifting tasks as needed
• Current school clearances (or willingness to obtain before start)
• Experience in classrooms, child care, behavioral health, or special education (preferred)
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges is a plus
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience considered an asset
• A patient, reliable, and collaborative approach

Position Responsibilities:

• Support students academic, social, and behavioral growth within classroom settings
• Deliver direct 1:1 or small-group assistance alongside teachers and other school staff
• Aid students with daily tasks, classroom participation, and smooth transitions
• Carry out behavioral support plans and follow IEPs when required
• Ensure students mobility, safety, and personal care needs are met
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
