Per Diem Classroom Assistant | El Monte, California

Instructional Aide Subs are needed for flexible, school-based opportunities offering meaningful, hands-on experience supporting K-12 learners. This per diem, as-needed role fits compassionate professionals who want flexibility and direct impact while gaining valuable exposure in educational settings.

As an Instructional Aide, youll work in local schools, partnering with educators to provide 1:1 and small-group assistance tailored to individual student needs. Assignments are available based on school coverage, allowing you to accept shifts according to your schedule and availability.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classrooms
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEP guidelines as needed
• Provide supervision, assist with mobility, and attend to personal care needs
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to learning

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Current negative TB test (per district requirements)
• Willingness to undergo or provide proof of required clearances prior to start

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus (not required)
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and collaborative spirit
