Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Edmonds, WA

Spindle is seeking dedicated Instructional Aide substitutes to support students in school settings near Edmonds, WA. This per diem, as-needed opportunity allows you to work flexible shifts in response to school coverage needs. As an Instructional Aide, youll play a crucial role in helping students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially, often providing 1:1 or small group support under the direction of teachers and educational staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students within classrooms by providing individualized or small group assistance.
• Help students manage daily routines, classroom transitions, and participate fully in activities.
• Implement behavior support plans and follow students IEPs where appropriate.
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care in a professional and respectful manner.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that encourages participation and learning.

Requirements to Start:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• TB test as required by the district.
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting.
• Willingness to complete or update all necessary clearances prior to starting.

Preferred Experience:

• Work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings.
• Supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT protocols is a plus, but not required.
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative, positive approach.
