Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Detroit, MI

Instructional Aide substitute opportunities are available for dedicated professionals who want to support students growth and learning in the classroom setting. Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in the classroom
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance as instructed by teaching staff
• Help students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
• Implement behavioral support plans and follow IEP guidelines as appropriate
• Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care when needed
• Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test (per district requirements)
• Ability to stand, walk, and provide lifting assistance as needed
• Current school clearances or willingness to obtain them before starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience in schools, special education, childcare, or behavioral health
• Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus, but not required
• Reliability, patience, and a collaborative, team approach
