Per Diem Paraprofessional in Detroit, MI

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in academic, behavioral, and social activities within the classroom
• Provide 1:1 or small-group assistance under the supervision of teachers
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom engagement
• Implement and follow behavior support plans as well as IEP guidelines
• Help with supervision, mobility, and, if needed, personal care tasks
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to meet standard school compliance requirements (TB test, clearances)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Clearances must be current or completed before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience beneficial, but not mandatory
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative attitude
