Per Diem Paraeducator in Detroit, MI

Instructional Aide Substitute roles are available for dedicated individuals eager to work directly with students in a structured, school-based environment near Detroit, MI. As an Instructional Aide, you'll gain valuable experience supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, with flexible, per diem shifts available based on school needs. Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group assistance as guided by teachers and school staff
• Assist students with transitions, daily routines, and classroom participation
• Follow and implement individualized education and behavior support plans
• Support students mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as required
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Current TB test (per district requirements)
• Background clearances (must be current or obtained prior to starting)

Preferred Experience:

• Work in classrooms, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Certification or knowledge in CPI, PMT, or RBT a plus (not required)
• Dependability, patience, and a strong team-oriented approach
