Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Des Plaines, IL

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed on a per diem basis to provide valuable support to students in a dynamic school environment near Des Plaines, IL. Key Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support in classroom settings
• Work directly with students 1:1 or in small groups as directed
• Assist students with routines, transitions, and classroom participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Support students with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as needed
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere for all students

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Must complete TB testing per school district requirements
• Current or attainable clearances prior to starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with crisis prevention/intervention techniques (CPI, PMT, RBT experience a plus but not required)
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and teamwork
