Per Diem Paraprofessional in Des Plaines, IL

What Youll Do:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
• Work closely with classroom teachers and school staff to deliver one-on-one or small group assistance
• Assist with daily routines, transitions between activities, and active participation in class
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs when applicable
• Support student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as required
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to learning

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a TB test (per district requirements)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willing to obtain required school-based clearances

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, including autism or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is a plus, but not mandatory
• Strong reliability, patience, and collaborative spirit

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
