Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Des Plaines, Illinois

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed on a per diem basis to provide critical support within local school environments. This is an exceptional opportunity for caring, adaptable professionals seeking flexible schedules and meaningful, student-centered work. You will have the chance to work one-on-one or with small groups, assisting students academically, behaviorally, and socially as directed by teachers and staff.

What Youll Do:

• Offer one-on-one or small-group assistance to students in various classroom settings
• Provide support with academic tasks, behavioral goals, and daily routines
• Assist students through classroom transitions and participation
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs as required
• Support supervision, mobility, and personal care as appropriate
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 18 years of age or older
• TB test in accordance with district guidelines
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting students as necessary
• Up-to-date clearance documentation, or willingness to complete it prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school settings, special education, childcare, or behavioral health
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism spectrum disorders, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is a plus but not required
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative communication style
