Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed to provide essential support for students across school settings near Des Plaines, IL. This per diem opportunity offers flexibility, making it ideal for professionals seeking meaningful work on their schedule. Youll play an integral role in assisting students 1:1 or in small groups, ensuring every learner receives the help and encouragement they need.

Position Highlights

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom environments
• Deliver 1:1 or small group assistance aligned with teacher and staff direction
• Help with classroom routines, transitions, and building student participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs where applicable
• Support personal care, student mobility, and supervise as needed
• Maintain an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning atmosphere

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to obtain/current TB test (per district requirements)
• Capable of standing, walking, and providing physical support as needed
• Willing to obtain required clearances prior to start

Preferred Experience

• Background working in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• PEL License (preferred but not required)
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral differences
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices a plus
• Reliable, patient, and effective communicator with a team-oriented approach
