Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Cicero, IL

This per diem, as-needed role allows you to select assignments that fit your lifestyle, supporting students one-on-one or in small groups throughout the school day. Work closely with teachers and school staff to facilitate learning, safety, and positive experiences for all students, including those with special needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom settings
• Offer 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by educational staff
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care tasks as needed
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements for School Compliance:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test as required by district
• Ability to stand, walk, and support students with lifting when necessary
• Current background clearances or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT a plus, but not required
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative attitude

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
