Instructional Aide Substitute Opportunities Per Diem, School-Based

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed for both 1:1 and small group support, offering compassionate individuals the chance to make a meaningful impact each day. These per diem positions provide flexibility, as shifts are available based on the coverage needs of school settings near Chicago, IL.

What Youll Do:

• Deliver academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classrooms
• Provide individualized (1:1) or small group assistance as directed by teachers or staff
• Guide students through daily routines, transitions, and encourage participation
• Assist in implementing behavior support plans; follow IEPs and accommodations as needed
• Support students in mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks
• Help create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Completion of TB test according to school district policy
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willingness to complete all required background clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Familiarity working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials are a plus but not required
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
