Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Chicago, Illinois

As an Instructional Aide sub, you will:

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom environments.
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and school teams.
• Assist students with routines, transitions, and classroom engagement.
• Implement behavioral support plans and follow IEP accommodations, as needed.
• Support students with mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks.
• Help uphold a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere for all learners.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Ability to complete a current TB test (in line with district protocols).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary.
• Willingness to provide or obtain all required clearances before starting.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care.
• Experience supporting children with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience welcomed but not mandatory.
• Dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative school environment.

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
