Instructional Aide substitutes are needed to provide vital 1:1 support for students in school-based environments near Chicago, IL. These flexible, per diem opportunities are a wonderful fit for compassionate individuals interested in making a tangible difference while working as part of a collaborative classroom team. Shifts are assigned based on school needs, allowing you to choose assignments that fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom settings
• Provide direct 1:1 or small-group assistance as assigned by teachers and school staff
• Help students navigate daily routines, classroom transitions, and engagement
• Implement behavior support plans and adhere to IEPs as applicable
• Assist with student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Foster safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environments for all students

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to stand, walk, and help with lifting as needed
• TB test (in accordance with school requirements)
• Current clearances, or willingness to obtain before starting
• Experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings (preferred)
• Background working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges a plus
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience desirable but not necessary
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative attitude

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
