Per Diem Paraprofessional in Carthage, IL

Instructional Aide Substitutes play a vital part in supporting student success and well-being on a flexible, per diem basis. These on-call roles offer an excellent chance to work 1:1 within schools, guiding students academically, behaviorally, and socially as needs arise. Key Responsibilities:

• Aid students in classroom environments, both academically and socially
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group assistance as directed by teaching staff
• Help with daily routines, classroom transitions, and active participation
• Follow behavior intervention plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) as needed
• Support students personal care and mobility requirements
• Encourage a safe, inclusive, and positive school atmosphere

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test in accordance with district policy
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willingness to obtain or maintain background clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Direct support for students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT practices (not required)
• Patient, reliable, and collaborative approach

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
