Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Carlsbad, California

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
• Implement behavior support plans and adhere to student IEPs where applicable
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks as needed
• Help create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test clearance in compliance with district requirements
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when required
• All clearances must be current or obtained prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Direct work in educational, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (helpful but not required)
• A reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
