Job Description
Instructional Aide Substitute positions are now available for compassionate individuals looking to make a meaningful difference in local school settings. In this per diem, as-needed opportunity, youll provide crucial support to studentsoffering flexibility while allowing you to contribute positively to young learners academic and social success.
As an Instructional Aide, youll have opportunities to work one-on-one or with small groups, directly collaborating with teachers and school staff. Assignments are based on school coverage needs and shift availability, making this a perfect role for those seeking a flexible schedule while building valuable classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within the classroom environment
- Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by classroom staff
- Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
- Follow behavior support plans and implement IEPs where applicable
- Provide mobility assistance, supervise students, and support personal care needs as needed
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age
- TB test per school district regulations
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
- All required background clearances (current or willingness to obtain before starting)
Preferred Experience:
- Background in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required, but beneficial)
- Proven reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
