Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom environments
  • Provide individualized or small group support under teacher and staff guidance
  • Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom engagement
  • Implement behavior support plans and follow individualized education programs (IEPs) as applicable
  • Support mobility, supervision, and personal care needs to ensure student safety
  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or a minimum of 36 college credits
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Compliance with school district requirements including TB testing and clearance background checks (current or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as necessary

Preferred Experience:

  • Working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
  • Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • Training or experience in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Positive Management Techniques), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a plus
  • Reliable, patient, and a strong team player
