Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Berkeley, California

Key Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• TB test in line with district standards
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• All mandated school clearances current or willingness to obtain them before starting
• Previous experience in schools, child care, special education, or behavioral health settings is helpful
• Background in supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Approach the role with reliability, patience, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to students under teacher and staff guidance
• Help students with academic tasks, daily routines, and transitions
• Support implementation of behavior plans and IEPs
• Supervise and assist with mobility and, when needed, personal care responsibilities
• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
