Job Description
Instructional Aide substitutes are currently needed to help shape positive learning experiences in schools near Bellevue, WA. As an Instructional Aide substitute, youll collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment. Your compassion and reliability can make a real difference in students academic and social journeys, especially for those with special education needs.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in a structured classroom environment
- Provide 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by teaching staff
- Help students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
- Implement behavior support plans and follow IEP guidance as needed
- Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care, ensuring a safe environment
- Uphold an inclusive and respectful atmosphere conducive to learning
Requirements for School Compliance:
- High school diploma or GED (must be at least 18 years old)
- Ability to pass a TB test as per school requirements
- Capable of standing, walking, and providing physical assistance as needed
- Current or willingness to obtain required clearances prior to starting
Preferred Background:
- Prior experience in school, child care, special education, or behavioral health settings
- Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is valued
- CPI, PMT, or RBT experience welcomed, though not required
- A dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
