Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Barstow, CA

What Youll Do:

• Assist students with classroom engagement, daily routines, transitions, and active participation
• Provide individualized support as directed by teachers and school staff
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs as needed
• Help with mobility, supervision, and personal care when required
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test completed per district protocol
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Current school compliance clearances or willingness to obtain before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials (a plus, but not required)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach
