Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Aurora, Illinois

As an Instructional Aide substitute, you will:

• Provide 1:1 or small-group assistance to students, supporting them academically, socially, and behaviorally
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement lesson plans and classroom activities
• Assist students with classroom transitions, daily routines, and personal care needs
• Help support students mobility and provide supervision as needed
• Follow behavior intervention strategies and implement IEP goals as directed
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students

Requirements to work in schools:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test as required by the district
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Current clearances or willingness to obtain prior to start

Preferred experience:

• Previous work in schools, child care, special education, or behavioral health
• PEL license
• Experience supporting students with autism, behavioral challenges, or special needs
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials (a plus but not required)
• Reliable, patient, and team-centered attitude

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
