Job Description

As a paraprofessional, youll play an essential role in fostering student success through one-on-one and small group support, while collaborating closely with educators and staff. This as-needed position is ideal for compassionate individuals ready to adapt and provide encouragement whenever coverage is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom and school settings.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support following teachers directions.
  • Help students with daily routines, transitions, and full classroom participation.
  • Follow and implement behavior support plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as necessary.
  • Offer assistance with mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that nurtures student growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • TB test clearance in line with school district regulations.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and provide support, including lifting as needed.
  • Current compliance clearances (or willingness to obtain them before starting).

Preferred Experience:

  • Work in school, behavioral health, childcare, or special education environments.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges, including autism.
  • Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT approaches (not required, but advantageous).
  • Reliable, patient, and collaborative team spirit.
