Per Diem Paraprofessional in Arlington Heights, IL

Instructional Aide substitute positions are available for compassionate professionals interested in school-based, flexible opportunities near Arlington Heights, IL. These per diem roles allow you to support students on a 1:1 basis and make a genuine difference in their educational experience.

As an Instructional Aide, youll play a vital role in helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally, all while working alongside dedicated teaching staff in a structured classroom environment. Sub assignments are available according to school needs, offering the flexibility to accept shifts that fit your schedule.

What Youll Do:

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and social needs in the classroom
• Provide individualized or small group assistance under the direction of teachers
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and class participation
• Implement behavioral support plans and follow IEPs as required
• Offer mobility assistance, general supervision, and help with personal care needs as needed
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Required Background:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test as required by the district
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willingness to obtain or provide necessary clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in a school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare setting
• Experience with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative team player
