Per Diem Paraeducator in Ann Arbor, MI

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students during classroom activities
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group assistance, following guidance from classroom teachers and school staff
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom engagement
• Carry out behavior support plans and follow IEPs as needed
• Aid with student supervision, mobility, and basic personal care
• Foster a safe, inclusive, respectful learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess one of the following: active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or at least 36 college credits
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Willingness to provide or obtain required TB test and clearances prior to starting
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Previous roles in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Support experience with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques is a plus
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative outlook
