Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Alviso, California

Instructional Aide substitute opportunities are available on a per diem basis for compassionate individuals interested in supporting students within a school environment. Responsibilities include:

• Providing academic, behavioral, and social support in classrooms
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups under the direction of teachers and staff
• Assisting with daily routines, transitions, classroom participation, and supervision
• Implementing behavior support plans and adhering to students IEPs as applicable
• Helping with mobility and personal care needs as necessary
• Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test (per school district regulations)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when required
• Willingness to obtain and maintain necessary clearances prior to starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Confidence working with students facing special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (helpful but not required)
• Dependability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
