Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active Occupational Therapist license issued by the State of Illinois
- Prior experience in a school-based OT role is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with special education laws, IEP development, and current occupational therapy best practices
- Proficient in conducting thorough assessments and implementing evidence-based interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Outstanding collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities for working closely with students, educators, and families
- Capable of operating both independently and as a valued team member
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students needs and strengths
- Develop and implement customized intervention plans and document progress
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support educational goals and IEP objectives
- Provide individualized and group therapy services to promote students fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills
- Deliver training and resources to school staff and families, aiding carryover of strategies
- Maintain thorough records and comply with all relevant policies and procedures
