Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
  • Previous experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations pertaining to special education and OT services
  • Ability to assess student needs, formulate targeted intervention plans, and implement evidence-based strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working closely with students, families, and school staff
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and interpret occupational therapy evaluations for students as part of the educational team
  • Develop individualized therapy goals and intervention plans to address physical, cognitive, and social-emotional needs
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate occupational therapy into students daily routines
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of student progress and services provided
  • Contribute actively to IEP meetings and support compliance with relevant educational laws and best practices
  • Create a positive, supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and achievement
