Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct clinical care, including administering first aid, addressing acute illnesses, and managing emergency situations for both students and staff
- Develop and execute Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for those with chronic conditions or disabilities
- Manage and dispense medications, maintaining accurate logs and ensuring safe storage practices
- Conduct routine vision, hearing, and growth screenings to support early intervention
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and uphold student confidentiality, including immunization and vaccination compliance
- Provide health education on nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and overall wellness
- Monitor the school for communicable diseases and maintain strict adherence to health regulations
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current LPN/LVN or RN license
- BLS/CPR/AED certification (school nurse certification may be required, based on state regulations)
- Experience in pediatrics, emergency response, or community health preferred
- Excellent assessment, communication, and independent work skills
- Proficiency or adaptability with electronic health records
- Willingness to obtain necessary clearances and TB test per school guidelines
