Per Diem School Nurse (LPN) - Reading, PA

What Youll Do:

• Offer direct first aid, acute care, and emergency response to students and staff during the school day
• Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with chronic conditions or disabilities
• Safely administer, monitor, and document prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Conduct routine health screeningsincluding vision, hearing, and growth assessments
• Maintain precise, confidential student medical records and ensure compliance with all vaccination requirements
• Educate students and staff about healthy lifestyle habits, nutrition, and disease prevention
• Promote a safe environment by adhering to health regulations and monitoring for communicable diseases

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Current Pennsylvania LPN, LVN, or RN license
• Active BLS/CPR/AED certification (school nurse certification may be required by some states)
• Experience in pediatrics, emergency, or community health is preferred
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and independent decision-making skills
• Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, electronic health records systems
• Ability to meet school compliance requirements (current TB test and clearances)
