Per Diem LPN - School in Elgin, IL

As an LPN or RN supporting school nursing needs, you'll contribute essential clinical care, education, and support for students and staff in a dynamic educational setting near Elgin, IL. What You'll Do:

• Provide first aid, manage emergencies, and offer acute care support for students and staff
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with disabilities or chronic conditions
• Administer and manage prescription and over-the-counter medications responsibly
• Conduct routine health screenings (vision, hearing, growth) to identify early intervention needs
• Maintain confidential medical records and ensure documentation aligns with compliance standards
• Educate students and staff on health topicsnutrition, hygiene, prevention, and wellness
• Monitor for communicable diseases and enforce school health and safety regulations

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) license
• BLS/CPR/AED certification (school nurse-specific certification if required by the state)
• Clinical experience in pediatrics, emergency care, or community health preferred
• Excellent clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to work independently
• Superior communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to electronic medical records
• Up-to-date TB test and all required clearances (or willingness to obtain prior to starting as required)
