What Youll Do:

• Deliver direct clinical care: provide first aid, manage emergencies, and treat acute illnesses for students and staff
• Support students with chronic conditions: craft and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs)
• Administer medications: maintain accurate records and ensure safe handling of prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Conduct health screenings: perform routine vision, hearing, and growth assessments
• Teach health education: promote healthy habits, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention
• Ensure compliance: monitor communicable diseases and maintain student health records
• Foster a safe environment: adhere to health regulations and promote campus-wide wellness

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid RN or LPN/LVN license (Illinois licensure required)
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification (some states may require specific school nurse certification)
• Ability to pass TB test and background clearances per school requirements
• Strong clinical assessment, organization, and electronic health record skills
• Comfort working independently and communicating effectively with students, caregivers, and staff
• Pediatrics, emergency care, or community health experience strongly preferred
