Per Diem LPN - School in Chicago, IL

What Youll Do:

• Deliver direct clinical care such as first aid, managing acute illnesses, and providing emergency response.
• Manage chronic health conditions by developing Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with ongoing needs.
• Administer medications safely, both prescription and over-the-counter, in accordance with school policies.
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, and growth) to help identify student health issues early.
• Accurately document student medical records, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with vaccination requirements.
• Educate students and staff about health topics like nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Monitor for communicable diseases and uphold a safe and healthy school environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
• BLS/CPR/AED certification (school-specific nurse certification may be required).
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
• Prior pediatric, emergency, or community health experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) electronic health records.
• TB test and current clearances (or willingness to obtain these prior to starting).
